That sucks. Maybe you can borrow someone's camera.

I borrow my wife's Canon SD750 and stick a 2GB SD card in it. Good enough for about 23mins of footage and doesn't have the issues that I also had with a hard drive based camera. When the 4giggers come out, I'll swap up to that for long sessions. The footage comes out great, but I would like to have a remote mounted microphone to record engine sound instead of wind noise. The small snap shot cameras do not have a jack for a remote tho.
Except for that stock C6Z that showed up the day after you in warmer weather and ran 2.13's on street rubber to your 2:14 - 1st time at the track. Did not realize how modified your car was. Running Hoosiers with well over 500hp at the crank?
You even have more posts than me!

Setup for a 300 shot for the hell of it too.

I posted a video from this event - a 2:14 minute lap - in a C5 with a 383 stroker (over 500 at the crank) and T1 suspension with Hoosiers - 1st time at the track. I always have fun running with C6Z06s at the track.
The only C6Z I saw in Blue Group/HPDE 3 was a Black one with a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo package who showed up for only the first day that turned a 2:13. I talked with the owner - his friend was taking lots of pictures and video - not sure he was running stock tires though. He was very fast.
I'll post another video that shows all the Corvettes that ran in Blue Group with me - lots of Corvettes there.

okay well that was the first stage, at least the one I'll talk about..
Cool - H/C, headers and tune on a 427 is a pretty potent combination - figured he would be closer to 600 with that setup (~ 95 hp gain). I've always linked the name "Lingenfelter" with their twin turbo and supercharger work. Great car!
I hope I get a chance to run with it again the next time. 427 vs. 383 - should result in a 2 to 3 second advantage for him, but we'll see. Mike
On the camcorder, I thought some of the new Hard Drive types can record 15 hours or so. What's wrong with that? Is Hard Drive not the way to go? I'm confused and in the market for one right now.
I'm thinking of doing a Car Guys event at WG in May. See u there?
Thanks again,

Agree with these comments re: the hard drive based camera. The JVC that I tried last year shut down before I made it out of the pits. Reading the instructions, it had a hard drive protection feature enabled to do this. It still shut down even after I turned of the feature.
I just use a Cannon SD750 with a 2 gig SD card. Its gets about 23 mins in before shutting down as a result of a full SD card. I always have my laptop at the track so I just off load it in between sessions and I"m good to go. The quality is OK, though I'd like to have better sound. It doesn't look right unless it sounds good too. Others use a remote mounted mic stuffed some place near the exhaust so you get plenty of engine noise. Regular cameras do not generally have a jack to use a remote mic.

I AGREE! I use a Panasonic GS180 (poor man's version of the GS320) with an external mic and .50 wide angle.
