Re: Who is going to the NCM deal at Spring Mountain in November?
I just did the NCM HPDE at VIR last week.
Summary and links here: Who's doing NCM HPDE @ VIR 2-3 July?
Best-organized and conducted HPDE event I've been to.
They have established criteria for instructors (good screening) and do a good job of matching instructors to students.
Anyone within an 8 hour drive should seriously consider it ...
From current eNews: "
We are in the process of putting together the first NCM High Performance Driving event taking place at Spring Mountain, in Pahrump, NV. We will be utilizing the track and facilities for the 2 day driving school scheduled for November 10-11.
Students will get approximately 2-hours of classroom instruction and about 4 hours on the track. Students in the beginner through intermediate groups will have an instructor in the car with them while on the track."

Re: Who is going to the NCM deal at Spring Mountain in November?
Oli,
I've never been there. Seriously tempted to go there and take the Spring Mountain course. Looks like Joe and the guys won't be able to fix my car and it get it out here in time for the Double Regional here in Bremerton on July 28-29. I'd like to get to a DE or two to shake the rust off before attempting to qualify for the Runoffs next year.

The NCM has the full track, either 3.1 or 3.5, whichever they want. It is tentatively set for 3.1, but they can decide at the last minute which way we will set the cones. We are so happy that the NCM will be bringing their very special NCM HPDE to Spring Mountain.

Thanks for the info Janet. Anyone within a reasonable range should REALLY consider going. The track is technical and challenging and the facilities and the staff are enormous bonuses.
Being a fairly low speed track is another bonus for people who may be afraid of "hurting their car". The track is incredibly safe and has enormous run off areas (miles of sand in some cases )

My guess is that they are going to use the 3.1 or 3.5 mile configuration. Either way, those configs utilize the Radical loop. Some people don't really like the super tight sections of the 3.5 mile course, but I like the extreme variety and the extra length. Either way I am good and I am happy with just going there. I hear registration fills up quick, so I may be presumptuous about going....

How tall are you Brad? I am about 5'10" and 200lbs. If you can fit in my car you can drive it while there. I know that you are more svelt than I am, but if you are not too tall I am sure you can jump right in as long as you don't mind sliding around the seat a bit.

Guys and Gals ...
Registration should open "any day now"
In past, registration has sold out "in hours" ... If you miss it, call Roc or Adam at the museum and petition to be added to a waiting list.
If you're thinking about it, sign up for NCM eNews ... link to event and eNews here: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/regist...PDE/info.shtml

Still no registration up, yet.
I think we need to do some sort of buddy system on this post. The first person who sees registration open up will be a real hero if they PM or e-mail everyone on this thread who says they plan to go.

I'm not going, but I'm on the "morning coast" and I'll post up when I get the word ... sometimes they put out a heads-up on the listserv.

Thanks Denny!

Oli,
Thanks for the very generous offer, but unfortunately, I'll be at sea this fall.
If I was here, I'd likely have tried to sign up as an instructor for that event. I've instructed for the SCCA HPDE, PCA and Tarheel clubs and always enjoy helping out new drivers.
