Re: Who is going to the NCM deal at Spring Mountain in November?
I plan on being there, it's a fun course, my favorite.
It has so many different types of turns, which makes it a good training track. Nothing like braking from 135 MPH for an off camber 180 turn in second gear!
Good technical course, we've attended most of the All Corvette Track days in the last several years.
I talked to Roc when I was at the Museum on the way to the NCCC convention in Nashville and offered to be an instructor.
Hey Oli,
Hopefully I can get registered and will be there. I keep monitoring the registrations so hopefully Ill get lucky. Ive run with you out there before, (actually, to be correct Ive been passed by you. Haha.) You are FAAAAAST.
This from NCM eNews:
"Get Ready For A High Performance Driving Event at Spring Mountain
We are pleased to expand our highly demanded High Performance Driving program with our first-ever West Coast based event. On November 10th and 11th the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, NV will be the host site for the Museum’s 6th driving school.
Building on the success of the programs which have been hosted at Carolina Motorsports Park, Putnam Park and Virginia International Raceway, the Museum’s High Performance schools focus on handling and performance driving, and put safety first as part of the experience. Students will be assigned to run groups based on their level of experience, from totally new beginners to the very experienced advanced drivers. Students will have as much as 2 hours of class and 3-4 hours of track time over the 2 day event. Students who are not solo qualified will have an instructor in the car with them at all times on the track. All participants will get a full two days of track experience, an event shirt, lanyard & credential and dinner on the first evening of the event. The cost to participate is $435 for NCM Members and non-members can participate for a fee of $485, which includes a one-year membership.
Registration will open via our website on August 7th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. CT. Our driving events fill quickly, so get ready to reserve your spot. For more information or questions, contact NCM Events Manager, Roc Linkov at: roc@corvettemuseum.com "

Ron ... See post 20 above.
There were quite a few "regulars" at VIR (folks who call the track "home" ) and quite a few C6Z06's, spread across all run groups.
I ran the Black (advanced) group and we had 20 instructors and 15 students in our run group with fairly open passing rules. Several of us got signed off for solo second day ...
IIRC ... you're going out to SM a week ahead of this event ... so this might be pushing it for an old guy ...
... I just turned 65 ... so I'm your biggest cheerleader ... !
"The huge popularity of this newest NCM program coupled with the limited number of students that an event can accommodate means that schools fill extremely quickly, sometimes within 2 hours of registration opening. Therefore it is vital to be signed on to NCM eNews to get the earliest advance notice of live registration."

Ron, as DennyM said, the NCM runs different run groups, so you & Nancy should each find a group that fits you. It should be a great time. Remember it is 6 AM California time when the NCM opens this event, so get up early.

Re: Who is going to the NCM deal at Spring Mountain in November?
I want to go to this event it sounds like it's going to be the place to be, but due to scheduling issues I'm not going to make it. I hope they "NCM" do it again next year. Lastly someone of you take post up some pic and video of the event for us that couldn't make the trip.

Howdy Track Addicts:
I have been missing this site the last couple of weeks due to travel, work and prepping my car for the run-offs.
Anyway, we have a NCM track day coming up in November at Spring Mountain. We started a new club in southern California for track addicts. One of the things we are trying to do is figure out who is going to Spring Mountain in November.
Go to this link and put your name in and some basic info on your car if you are going. When you are there, you can see who else has posted their name as attending.
