2 + 2 Usually ='s 4..........

Ok, so for about 4 weeks now, I have been smelling a light scent of stale water/mildew in the ride when I have it sitting with windows up. I attributed this to the water that has seeped in the weatherseal on the driver side top an dthe damage it has caused to my headliner. Hmmmmm. But, something is not right.

I then noticed water on the ground of my garage, just aft of the rear passenger wheel, which looked like it was dripping from the elbow on the exhaust pipe. Nope. Wasn't that. Looked up underneath the car, and nothing leaking. Nothing was "wet". Condensation I thought? Hmmmm. Couldn't figure it out. So, as I sat in on the computer sifting through old threads, it came to me..... When I first joined, a gentleman was seeing oil leak drips in the rear directly under the center area. I simply asked if he had a leaking quart of oil down in his hidden compartment. He didn't even know it was there or he could lift it out...So, with that in mind, I put on some slippers, went out to my car at O'Dark:30 and popped the trunk. Removed my small carry bag from the right side storeage hole and wouldn't you know..... The towel in there was SOAKED!!! Apparently, I left a 1 Gallon water jug from WINTERFEST (when my car had blown head gasket, I stocked up on water). So, I guess what happened is, the pressure from the heat must have popped the top off from too much expansion and it was just leaking out all along. I guess it didn't help when I shoved the towel down there after washing car, squeezing almost half the gallon out.

So, it basically pooled up in the pocket and slowly found a way out. I just soaked up as much as possible with the blue towel (courtesy of someone at WINTERFEST, Jim Lembo, is that your towel???) and left the windows open to air dry it out. Something so simple, yet, I never checked. So, what did I learn from this? If there is a wet pool of fluid under my car, it is coming from somehere ON THE CAR! Hahahahahaha

Jim probably isn't very anxious to get the towel back at this point.

Glad you got it figured out Glenn. Nothing worse than having stale water smell in the car.
