One of my fellow retired Police Officers was diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago. He died Wednesday. Just like that...Gone. Just makes you think about the saying, (I think it was Shawshank Redemption...) "Get busy living, or get busy Dying."
I know it's really hard to imagine what you'd do, but what would be on your short list if you got similar news????
I know every day is a precious gift and I try to appreciate it and make the most of it...but sometimes I lose focus. Things like this news are a strong reminder.

I'd hop on a plane and visit as many countries as I could. Along the way, I'd sample all the beers I could and savoir every one. At the end, I would eat the biggest T-Bone steak I could and after that, lay down and give up the ghost.

go to work, pay bills, put up with rude people's bull $h!t, clean the house, take out the trash, laundry, read books, worry about gas prices, worry about money, drive a pos car.
now that i think about it there are a few things i would do.
take all my friends to vegas and spend a crap load of money
have a track day
have a demolition derby (i'd be driving my dd truck)
eat good food
spend time with my wife
tell the rude people i hate that they caused my death lol
play A LOT of practical jokes
and the list goes on

Not sure what I'd do. This is ofcourse assuming that you are able to do much of anything at all. I'm sure it would take a while to sink it,especially if it came out of nowhere. My father in law walked into the hospital in early Feb. this year with neck pain and came out on the 20th in a casket. Turned out he had cancer everywhere and never knew it. They gave him 6 months and believe me, with the pain he was in, he wasn't going anywhere or doing anything. He asked for two things: For my wife to make him a cherry pie which she did but he couldn't eat and he asked the doctors to make him well enough to take one more walk outside in the sunshine( they just moved to Phoenix ) which they couldn't do either.
Wow, I'm so sorry to hear of this Joe. Time is so very precious and it seems to just slip away. Sure does open your eyes and make you realize how little time we really have.
I'd take my wife and family on a dream vacation and spend as much time with them as I could.

Sorry to hear about your friend Joe. Although situations like that are rare, they happen often enough that they have somewhat skewed my life's philosophy more towards life for today than prepare for tomorrow.

Re: 2 Weeks to Live????
Sorry to hear about your loss of a friend Joe. Every loss seems to take a part of you and leave an empty space inside of you.
What I would do if I knew that I had 2 weeks, would be to gather all of my friends and family for one last big party, then go do something I have never done before like "Rob a Bank".
