2009 California SMOG law

Well, only in goofyfornia, starting in 2009 when a vehicle has completed a SMOG tes, it will require a global warming sticker with a rating from 1 to 10. The rating is based on the the amount of emission emitted.
I am not sure what the epa will do with these ratings, but I can only imagine. I am sure this will be used to get classic cars and performance cars off the road. And one way this will be accomplished is by adding a vehicle use tax to the licensing fees.
So, look out folks I can see this spreading to other states.

Re: 2009 California SMOG law

I have several classic cars. A good friend has a smog shop and we got into a discussion about classic cars, would they pass the new smog laws. Although not required, and well maintained, we ran three of the cars through a smog test just to see how they compared to the newer cars. All three passed with better numbers than a couple of new cars he had in the shop.
But, the do-gooders just want these cars in the bone yard.

You're exactly right. Those people are only doing it because they want people to jump on the same boat they're on. Just goes to show you that not everyone has their facts straight.
