So I bought the PlayStation3 in the fall hoping GT5 would be out soon. Glad I did for the blu-ray and such, but now I finally have GT5 prologue as the force feedback wheel is out....I also finally got the Z06 on it, and I must say, it is really realistic. Sound is excellent. I'm just beginning to get the feel of the wheel with countersteer and such. I have to admit that with 4$ plus gas and trouble getting past 3rd gear on the street, this is a very reasonable alternative to an aimless after-work drive...sometimes. It will quickly pay for itself in my hands.
If you have a new Z (or not) and haven't powered out of a corner in real life yet, I think you may find this worthwhile. just an FYI.
I have GTR2 for PC and I know exactly how you feel. I have the MOMO Logic Force Feedback, and although I turn that force feedback junk off, I have the steering wheel set with some resistance so it is smooth, no force feedback, but a tight steering feel. My computer sucks and I can only play with like 6 or 7 cars on track. And this game can handle upwards of 35+ cars of all differnt types. Mclarens, Saleens, C5Rs, POrsches, Ferraris, Mazerattis, etc etc etc...... Its insane. And although this game is about 3 or 4 years old, it is still amazing with graphics, sound, etc. Can't wait for GTR3. I paid $18 for the game and now it is available for $9.99. I love racing on HockenheimRing in Germany and Nordshleif. Still haven't found NurburgRing yet! It also has Le Mans, and Monaco, and other great tracks. But it sucks with all the driver training you must do to unlock other tracks. But when I am in training mode, I really try and beat the computer AI to win Gold Medals. Golds open up more cool tracks.
And, you can set the time of day, night, weather, etc in racing and I tried racing once in a thunder storm and it was sick. It was at night, windhseild wipers going, lights on, rain pelting the windshield.... I couldn't see crap! Hahahahahahaha So I just played bumper cars!

how much are the force feed back wheels on the pc? what about on the ps3? i'd love to rip into a race game on my computer, its set up for video editing, but i can quickly switch hardware settings over for gaming, running 2 crossfire 256 ati cards, dual processors and PLENTY of ram, don't want to tell you how much cause you'd get jealous and come steal my computer

still waiting on the z06 to materalize in my driveway. shouldn't be long now.
mmm Monaco. I miss that track from GT4. I really hope when they make Forza 3 they add lots more tracks, I miss driving a lot of those from GT4. I may have to try that GT3 for the PC when it comes out. I am not sure I will enjoy the 100% SIM nature of it though.
After going back and playing GT4 after Forza 2, they will have to make A LOT of improvements on control response before I would consider it. I used to think GT was awesome, it pales in comparison to Forza 2 IMO.
Chewie - Right now, Logitech has teh best ForceFeedback wheels available. The one I have I bought on sale at Best Buy for roughly $80.00. The next step up is a more realistic wheel that runs about $350, $400. Screw that. This wheel does everything and is a great choice. Comes with brake and gas pedals. No clutch. The upgrade has a clutch I think. Although, this wheel I have has a clutch for shifting, sort of like TIPTRONIC shifting. The game was given Editors Choice Award and received a 9.0 rating. Any game above 8.0 is killer to me. Games that fell in this arena are Call of Duty 4, Crysis, Mafia, Deus Ex, F.E.A.R., S.T.A.L.K.E.R., FAR CRY, Half-Life, Medal of Honor
I am not sure what SIM is out there for PC better than GTR2, but there is a new racing game out called GRID, and it looks promising!!!
GameSpot Video: GRID Official Movie 2, take you rpick. GTR2 is based on real world race tracks. GRID looks more street wise. GTR2 is hard. And i play it on wuss-boy mode. The AI is GOOD!!! Did you see my links to some videos I posted on here? Here is a VID NO DOUBT posted from YOU TUBE:
Found this link: All the car downloads you could dream of to include C6R, McClarens, Ferraris, Enzos, Audi R8, Pagani Zonda, FORD GT, Le Mans Panoz, etc...
Log in and it is free. Tracks, cars, tunes, updates, etc....
I bought GT5 Prologue and think it is a waste. Not many cars. No upgrading available for the cars. This "game" is basically demo for 40 bucks. My advice is to wait until the finished version arrives. Should be a great game.
I love the Gran Tourismo series and have raced them since the beginning back on Play Station. I bought the PS2 because of GT3 and raced and raced. I am to the point where most of the races are endurance races and I cannot endure setting there that long anymore.
I may have to pick up the PS3 for the Gran Tourismo stuff again. It will be a while. I will wait til the prices come down some this time around.
