For the past 2 or 3 months my computer loads everything on the Z06vette.com site very slowly. Like 30 to 40 seconds between every click. It only is this slow on this forum. What can be the problem. I love it here but it's driving me . Anybody else having this problem?
Yep, but only occassionally. Been happening ever since the crash. At times, I can't access any page on our site so I just go elsewhere for a while and it's usually back in a few minutes.

It may not be this site as it loads quickly on every system I use, no matter where.
Nor is it necessarily your PC. If other sites load normally on your PC then it's your ISP's routing to this particular server. However, if all sites load slowly then it's either your ISP's connection to their backbone or your PC.
Check for malware (spyware, viruses, trojans, etc.) on your PC if all sites are slow to load before contacting your ISP.
If a particular site, such as this one, is intermittently slow to load it can be due to a number of factors: The server could be at capacity, its connection to the Internet could be at capacity, there could be a problem with the server itself or, again, a problem with your ISP's connection or routing to the server, etc. Any number of possibilities exist, many of which are beyond your control.

It can be due to three things.
1. Corrupted cache. (Would affect other sites too)
2. Corrupted DNS (identifies the servers on the web from their IP address to the name.
3. Eventually a virus.
Do the following:
Check your pc on line from a site like www.pandasoftware.com
Then go to OpenDNS and create a free new DNS routing.
Your ISO will tell you the same thing. (I work in Global Telecommunications)

Thanks
I pay for Spyware Doctor and no virus found. No help from my IPS provider. Nothing has changed with them and you talk to somebody different time. I don't think their even in this country.
I will try the OpenDNS wednesday. Any other help will be appreciated. This is my favorite place to hang out but miserable waiting so long for each page to open.

He stated it's only this site...

If the ISP has a corrupt/bad DNS cache, that's their problem. Usually, a website will eventually be resolved normally once the DNS records cache is updated after DNS propagation. If not, then I agree that using another DNS server is an option worth trying. One can use any number of DNS servers, not just the one used by their ISP. OpenDNS being one such example.
You could always contact the admin at your ISP and ask them (politely) to update their master DNS records cache, but they would probably hang up on you.
A Spyware scan is good, but you should also scan for viruses and trojans, etc. as they are not one in the same. As Leman stated, there are a number of online anti-virus scanning services available if you don't own anti-virus software yourself. However, I doubt that is the issue.
I'll answer your question but first a little background info that you may find useful at some point.
To put it simply, a DNS Cache is a record that translates hostnames into numerical IP addresses. For example, this sites numerical IP address is 66.18.160.169 and it's hostname is Z06vette.com Obviously a name such as that is much easier to remember than a string of numbers. Therefore, when you type in www.Z06vette.com your ISP (usually, but it's not required to be) looks up the name Z06vette.com and finds the numeric IP address for this server. It then passes your browsers request to the server using its numerical IP address. The server then sends the requested page back to you, via your ISP. BTW, "ISP" stands for Internet Service Provider.
"DNS" stands for Domain Name Server. A DNS server is simply one that keeps a record of what hostnames are associated with a given IP address or addresses.
As I said above, typically your ISP has its own DNS server and is the one you are probably using now, as are most people. However, once again, you don't have to use it. Why wouldn't you want to? Well, there are times when for some reason its DNS cache, which is again nothing but a record, becomes out of date or corrupt. Usually issues such as that are self-resolving by design although occasionally something goes amiss. Thus, when you request a page such as z06vette.com the DNS cache doesn't know the IP address and therefore can't find the site. Hence, you don't see the page you requested or it's slow to 'load'. Again, there are a multitude of backup systems and protocols, etc, in place that make the Internet as redundant and reliable as it is. Again, this was by design.
Just for fun, try this. Open a browser, and instead of typing in http://www.z06vette.com type http://66.18.160.169 and press enter. This site will load just as it normally does. In your case, if the DNS cache is bad, it may even load faster!
As to where you can find a different DNS server, Leman already named one, although there are many and sometimes free of charge depending on need.
For more information on DNS, what it means and how DNS servers work, see the following, which also offers DNS servers...
Thank You
Here's the deal. I type in Z06vette.com and I get there right away. The home page opens right up. Once I click on forums it goes to a new window with some stuff at the top but the rest of the page is blank like it's loading. But at the bottom left it says (Done) and then takes from 25 to 40 seconds to open up. Everything I click on this site does the same. Just like this reply. Once I hit the submit reply it will take that long to do anything. I don't have this on any other site I go to, just Z06vette.com. And its only been this way for a few weeks. I guess I didn't explain it properly before. Thats about it. It drives me crazy waiting.
Thanks for all the help and keep it coming.
Ok, that says the site is resolving ok, meaning you can get here with no problem. However, once here, you can't browse different pages. This is a key finding since the IP for the homepage is no different than this or any other page. Therefore it is not a DNS issue. Unfortunately it's worse.
I'm joking, although it may be slightly more time consuming to figure out.
It may be a browser configuration or internet security setting on your PC. In order to troubleshoot it I'll need to ask you a few (maybe a lot) of questions regarding this.
We'll start with a simple one, but first a word of caution: If you answer with anything other than IE7, you're screwed.
j/k
So, what browser are you using?
First try deleting all z06vette.com cookies and then reload the site. If you don't know how to do that I can tell you. (I doubt it's the problem but it's always good to start from a known good state).
We'll then need to run through a rather long list of configuration and security settings that affect your browsers functionality. That is, how it handles various types of websites, including scripts, popups and Java applets, etc. etc.
One more thing, and like I tell others, it might prove faster and easier if you pay me a LOT of coin to fly to wherever you are, spend 5 minutes at your keyboard and be done with it.
Individually, neither AT&T nor Yahoo are web browsers. You visit the website www.yahoo.com for instance by using a web browser. A browser is an application used to view websites. For example, Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera are web browsers.
However, AT&T Yahoo, together is also an ISP. That is, you pay them to allow you to connect to the Internet. Thus, they are your Internet service provider.
