Hakeem did a job at your school in the '80's. Physical BB, I dig it!
I also really enjoy NFL Football, a lot!
God Bless, Latrell
For the younger (or perhaps less Basketball literate , Lew Alcindor may be rembered as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ...
Now ... I saw a guy named Wilt Chamberlain play at KU "back in the day" ... he went on to some modest success in the NBA ...
Thanks for supporting our servicemen and women

I like to bust'm on kareeem by calling him Lew, it's meant with great admiration and he knows it.
Artis Gilmore played at U of Jacksonville, I just love watching film against Lew in the NCAA Finals.
Played a mean game for the ABA in KY. Hubie can coach!

I was in one of the Astrodome skyboxes watching the game between U of H and UCLA back in Jan of '68.
The Big E, Duck Chaney, Theotis Lee, Kenny Spain and George Reynolds finally beat the unbeatable Bruins (47 game win streak)...Lew Alcinder, Lucias Allen, Lynn Shackleford, Mike Warren and Edgar Lacey. Greatest round ball game I ever saw! Unfortunately, UCLA went on to win the NCAA torney that year.
Decided right then I was going to play for U of H after HS.
Got cut from the squad and drafted my first year in college and then off to VNam. Wasn't much of a plan, was it

Hey, what happened with Jub and the cow? I've been gone for awhile!!
The first NBA game I went to I ran into Lew Alcindor coming out of the locker room at halftime in the old Milwaukee arena, man was he tall! Oscar Robertson and John McGlocklin too. I was 12, it was 1971. Bucks only championship. I was on a trip to the game sponsored by my church for all the Altar boys. I'll never forget that.

My 2 nephews are in Iraq as we speak. Well 1 of them will be in Afghanistan in a week or 2. The Taliban is on the Rise over there. The terrorists from Iraq are also moving in.
I really enjoy hanging out over there with our young people. If I put a smile on there face, even for a minute or 2, I feel blessed.
I Especially like to focus my time with 18-25 year olds.
My good pal, KidRock spends a lot of time traveling with the USO over there, he doesn't get the respect from the media about all the good he does.
The media in this country only focuses on the bad and not the good.
