My name is Shawn. I'm 28 years old, and live in Chesterfield, VA. Last November I finished up 6 years of active duty with the US Army as an MP. I was stationed at Fort Lee, VA, and Camp Darby, Italy, with a 1 year deployment to Afghanistan from '05 - '06. Presently, I'm in a police academy here in VA. The rest of my family lives in Maryland near Baltimore, with the exception of my ex-wife, she lives in Florida (the further the better).
Thanks for providing such an awesome resource, and honestly if it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have found Allen's car; I'd still be searching for my Z06.

The academy has been fun so far, but don't tell my training officers I said so. I think the military more than prepared me for it.
The worst part about having this car, is that I won't have time to get it registered in Virginia until probably next Saturday. So all week I'm stuck driving my Trans Am, which feels incredibly slow all of a sudden.

Bob, I'm about 15 minutes south of Richmond. Chesterfield County is surrounded by Henrico, Powhatan, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Amelia Counties... I'm sure I'm missing a few.
I know I speak for all service members when I say thanks for the support, and personally for not chastising me about my chosen profession upon leaving the military.

Thank you for YOUR service, Sir. I'm in the academy for Chesterfield County (52nd). I realized I wanted to be a police officer in late 2001, but after September 11th I realized I had another calling to answer first. I'm one of the older guys in the class, but certainly not the oldest. Thankfully.
Some drives and beers sound good, so long as we don't reverse that order. And speaking of drives - I'm going crazy here. I live literally two minutes from the DMV and can't make it over there anytime to get the car registered! I'm going to try and get it done tomorrow during our lunch break - if I'm late back I'll just have to eat it and get PTd to death I suppose...
