Jim:
Your friend Tom, has our prayers and best wishes.
I know what he is going through because I had a heart valve replaced last September. After the surgeon got in there and replaced the valve, he said that I was a walking dead man because the valve was so bad,he didn't know how it was pumping any blood at all. Thankfully all went well and I am OK now.

I just got back from visiting Tom in the hospital (9pm Tues). He was awake and alert and looked pretty good all things considered. He is still in ICU at University Medical Center (Tucson, Az) and I would expect he will be there for a bit. He does not have access to a computer there so I'll try and stop by tomorrow and pass on everyone's comments. His son from California and daughter are here close by his side. Post some notes for Tom and I'll pass them along to him.
Man I just ran accross this. OMG Jimbo thanks for the heads up. Tell Tom we are all pulling for him, and prayers are on the way! Please keep us updated. Don

I visited Tom again this morning and read to him all the well wishes from his friends and extended family in the Z06 Forum and ACE (Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts). Tom wanted to let folks know he had his chest tube removed (drainage) and that he really appreciates all the notes from you. You can keep them coming and I'll get them to him every day or two. I expect he will be in ICU for several more days then move to a regular room for at least 4 more days. Best case would probably be release mid next week at the earliest.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He still has a long road to recovery.

That's awesome Malcolm!! Thanks for all you're doing!
Next visit, tell Tom that Sept should be just enough time to prepare for a nice MM and diet. I sure hope he puts down the stogies though!!
Hide them if you can!! J/K

Re: Prayers needed!
Thanks Malcom, for keeping an eye on Tom.
Hey Tom, glad you're doing a little better. Just a word of warning, Mary Lou and I are driving down to visit you on Monday. Hang in there buddy and no "nurse patting" until your heart's a little stronger.

Gwen and I just got back from the hospital, but we weren't able to see see Tom. We did talk to his son and it sounds like Tom had a hard go of it today. Please keep the prayers going for Tom.
