Re: Prayers needed!
Tom,
Get your valve job finished and put some hardened seats in there! Guess there are gonna be some changes to the gas, eh? No more leaded stuff, have to switch to unleaded! Think some MM octane booster will be OK? Whatever the case, you just get better--you know the Late Night Fest Crew needs you in there with us! What would a early, early morning gathering be without Tom Squared (Yuma & FRC), Ken, and yeah, Lil Lembo, Lauren...? You know, when all the light-weights have slunk off to bed and the party REALLY begins! Hehehe, what happens in Phoenix, stays in Phoenix... ...until we tell everyone! So ya better get outta there before we start posting pics of what you and FRCtom were up to!
Oh, and Sandi sends her well wishes to you, too! Get better, bud!
Scott
Malcolm, Gary, Gwen, etc,
Thanks for being there!

all the posts and well wishes brings tears to my eyes! just thinking about losing a great guy doesn't fit into the picture, so you GOTTA get better!!!!
Pat and I saw Tom this morning. He was alert and talking and eating semisolid foods. He enjoys visitors but you could see he tires easily after about 20 minutes. I read him more posting for you guys and his ACE Forum buddies. He really enjoys hearing from you. He says hello and is fighting hard to get back in the saddle in his Z.
Keep those thoughts and prayers headed his way. He still has a very, very long road to recovery.
Malcolm, Gary....Which room is he in? I am not sure how to locate him just by asking for "TOM".
I may be in Tucson this evening and will stop by to check up on him. I need to know which room and his last name.
University medical center.... Where is that located?
I am about 80 miles away. Will go see him but need more details.
Malcolm or Gary, if you see this please call me. PMs sent.
Tom - You hang in there buddy! That's an order!

God! I hope I'm not too late! ... Glenn ... if you haven't seen Tom yet, STOP!
Don't you dare go in there and make Tom laugh ...
he'll bust stitches and have to get re-stitched ...
All you gotta do is tell the tale of GR8 White ... hearing that, Tom will feel fortunate to only be dealing with a heart job ...
Tom! ... when you get better, the nurses get better looking ...

I stopped by about 6pm today. Tom had a minor procedure to remove a bunch of the tubes and the like. The nurse told me that Tom will need to rest more than he has been the next several days and let his heart recover. If any of you were thinking about visiting, she said they will not allow any more visitors for a few days other than immediate family. The nurse suggested to call first before anyone makes the trip beyond mid week.

Tom is doing better, still in ICU and not out of the woods yet, but eating solid food and getting stronger and not on anywhere near as many meds as he was just a day ago. Talked to his son and brother tonight and they asked me to post up that they would like to keep visitations to a minimum until he is out of ICU. He needs to rest more than he has been to get his strength back. His family greatly appreciates all the prayers and well wishes that everyone here has sent his way! We all know that it has had a very positive effect on his spirits and has helped get him on the road to a full recovery! I want to extend personal thanks to each and every one of you also.

Re: Prayers needed!
Mary Lou and I drove down to Tucson this afternoon and visited with Tom for about 20 minutes. He was in good spirits and talked non-stop the entire time we were there. What a trooper - or is it dipshiz? Open heart surgery just a few days ago and he's talking like it was nothing.
I'm surprised they let us in, and in fact they probably shouldn't have, but we got to see him for a few minutes and he was sitting up in bed and seemed quite alert for what he had just recently been through. He needs rest and knows it, but he's worried his brother might come to visit and find him asleep. Holy cow! We told him not to worry about that, just get some rest!
Tom's son John showed up while we were there and said they will probably have to do another operation to put in a pace maker. So keep the prayers coming, Tom still has a ways to go...
We left Tom a card with sigs from the members of my forum which Tom is also a member and left him a Corvette Book to browse when he gets strong enough.
With the IV tree sitting next to the bed on one side with blinking lights, and various monitors on the other with blips and peeps, Tom looked like he might be piloting the space shuttle.
Sorry to make lite of your dilemma Tom, I know you're uncomfortable, just hoping a little humor won't make it hurt more.
Tom said to tell everyone on the Forum Hi and thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.
We'll be back soon Tom. Be strong, and may God bless...
Steve
