Steve, I haven't bought DR's for a long time. The ones I had were BFG's and they worked fine. As long as you don't scream around in them when you're not on the track, the drive back and forth won't hurt them.
If I were you, I'd pm Jimbo (Jim Lembo) and ask him what DR's he's using. I've worked with Jim the last 2 or 3 years at the Fest and helped him get some great 10's with his setup.

Steve, MCRacing moved my battery into the rear years ago but I wasn't there when they moved it so I can't tell you how involved it was.

Have you tried the search feature and used 'batteries' or 'braille' yet?

Steve, I've heard pretty good things about the Braille batteries and wouldn't hesitate to go that direction if it were me.
