Smile repairing heads

Just got a quote on repairing my heads. It was suggested use stock heads CNC port them with stainless ex. valves and Bronze guides.Does this sound OK for a car that will NOT see the track. I also will be getting a mid range cam and matching springs and headers and catted X pipe. I want it to go when I step on it, but it will not be used on race track. Will it hold up with this combo. thanks Steve

Re: repairing heads

That's sounds like a sound plan but I'm no expert. Here's a bump for you anyway.

Re: repairing heads

For one you have to state what year your C6 Z06 is
What is wrong with heads to need to be repaired ?

As to mods first question up front you have to ask is the area you live in require smog testing
If so your putting mods on that are illegal as per EPA smog rules and can cause failed testing if visual or I/M or worse I/M 240

Once that is answered and NO required smog testing you need to pick a CAM carefully as the wrong one for the 427 CI can cause real problems and worse if the wrong person does then tune you could expect internal engine problems

You do not want due to CAM grind to lose too much low end vacuum as that will have ill effects on starting, idle and low end part throttle

You have to expand on what "catted" means
