Re: Oil sending unit problems?

Clearly, you have an electrical problem.

The sender isn't the issue unless the guy doing the work for you was an idiot. Given he knew it was under the intake manifold (and is a PITA to get at, I...

Re: CONFUSED - PLEASE HELP Lean or Rich after Cold Air Intake?????

Tom is dead right. Low restriction filters, ported MAFs or throttle bodies will do the same thing and you arguably end up worse-off in the long run if you don't make other adjustments.

Re: Loss of power, no codes

No way fuel is your problem. If you're going lean on fuel just revving the motor in neutral, you wouldn't have enough to be able to drive at all under load.

You're hearing funny noises, it's...

Re: Depart the Z06 family?

Well, I've been the owner of a 2014 CTS-V (Raven Black with Twilight Blue interior) for 3 weeks now. I gotta say - W*O*W. The car is really about as big as the sedan, but it doesn't feel like a big...

Re: Depart the Z06 family?

Well, if anyone cares, I bought a CTS-V but kept the Z06. I really couldn't bring myself to get rid of the Z. I've had it since it was a baby. I know how it goes together, I know how to take it...

Re: Another accident. Driving lessons needed.

The problem is, these crashes drive Insurance costs up for the rest of us. That was, as I recall, a big issue that helped kill the Fiero. It was cheap and sporty and especially, kids bought and...

Re: Depart the Z06 family?

Wow. Good replies, guys!

Where have I been? I signed on to a startup SSD company. Been working my *ss off for the last 3 years. We got acquired, and I got some decent money (not F.U. money,...

Depart the Z06 family?

Been quite some time since I was active on this Forum. I'm still driving (flogging) my 02 Z, though I'm thinking of options...

The car is at 110K miles. It still runs really great. In spite of...

Re: 2004 Radio Replacement Question

The C5 uses a 1.5 DIN opening. There are very few aftermarket options and none of them are good. You can either mount a single-DIN unit, or a single-DIN with a flip out display, or you can buy (or...

Re: Double Din in a C5

Damned if I can find even one. But I know I've seen at least one. I distinctly remember pictures of the exposed structure.

After you remove the bezel, you move the climate control down and...

Re: High Power LED Headlights? Anyone tried these?

Upgrade to the euro T-84 glass lenses and wiring harness, and you can run a 130W bulbs. The beam is tighter and brighter, they're still pop-ups, and it's much less expensive.

Re: Stock leaf springs preload when lowered

The weight of the car is the same no matter how high or low the adjuster is. If the bolt is retracted so far that the spring is unloaded, something else is taking the weight. You don't say if the...

Re: Double Din in a C5

There are definitely posts in this forum about modifying the console for 2-Din. I have a spare bezel sitting in my garage, specifically because I intended to do this exact thing, myself.

Re: RC Jets Crash - VID

I fly RC planes and helis. The one invariant rule of the hobby is, if you're going to fly, you're going to crash. Not a question of "if", just of "when". I prefer less expensive models but I still...

Re: Modifying Fuel Injectors?

Gotta argue with that. Injectors are solenoid controlled valves. They have an electromagnet coil around the exterior that drives a spring-loaded plunger located inside the body of the injector. ...

Re: HELP! Electrical ghosts? Keeps stalling

Sounds like a bad Ground to me. It's a 10 year old car (like mine). Stuff corrodes. You're going to need to go through all the electrical connections, battery, starter, etc., until you find it. ...

Re: Temperature gauge running at 240...

Assuming no water leak, sounds like an electrical issue to me. Water Temp sensor. Try cleaning the connector and see if that fixes the problem. Or replace it. Cheaper to try first, anyway, before...

Re: Breaking upgrade?

I agree. The stock system is pretty good at stopping the car. It's not maybe so good for sustained/prolonged braking. Any of the upgrades mentioned above would fix that. But for street, it's...

Re: GFChip

You can fool the PCM in to thinking the air is hotter or colder than it really is. This will temporarily change the mix. Increase the apparent temperature, the mix will lean out. Since the car...

Re: A/C help needed (not the vacuum issue)

It might be the Fan motor. I'd had an intermittent issue with mine, where it wouldn't spin up some times. It was definitely the motor. I removed the air-recirculation tube (the rubber 1/2"...

Re: exccessive heat in armrest?

LAPD has (or had) a ceramic coated tunnel plate, that replaces the cheap tin one that's stock. It significantly reduces heat soak from the exhaust, which runs directly down the center of the car,...

Re: How does the C6 Z06 get its fuel efficiency?

My 02 gets 30MPH with a Vortech supercharger. The secret, as stated above, is really weight and Cd.

The Corvette weighs a lot less than most other cars. My Evo outweighs my Z by 1200Lbs. It...

Re: Whine coming from engine or tranny, but sounds like a supercharger

The whistle is totally gone. Now the car makes a whine. A very satisfying whine, I might add... it sounds like "performance". :yeadog:

The funny thing is, the Vortech is designed to be quiet...

Re: Whine coming from engine or tranny, but sounds like a supercharger

Z06s are known to make an intake "whistle" sound under certain loads and throttles. I don't recall the details, but I do recall discussing it on this forum. My car made the sound. I fixed mine by...
