As you may know there is a Crank Position Sensor (CPS) on the end of crank

The problem with the GM design is the PCM is looking for any stutter via crank and that would assume misfire....

To save time you might want to pop off the oil filler neck from right valve cover and with a small mirror
or bore-scope and look at the color of springs for #2 cylinder

Saves having to take off...

Simple to know if your C5 has the bad or good valve springs is pull 1 valve cover

If the springs are YELLOW then they are the bad batch made
If they are BLUE then they are the replaced designed...

Go to options and then
FOB relearn process, assure your selecting on DIC the correct number FOB

Stock Corvettes never even get close to digesting maximum airmass (as reported by MAF)

Take a stock C6 Z07 LS7 as to 100% engine load, etc as collected below is far below the limits of 85 mm MAF...

There is a overall change when in AFM 4 cylinder mode because this means engine is putting out far less horsepower, torque and effects timing and vacuum/MAP

Yes that will work but you must get with a tuner and make tuning changes as your new setup on it's own will effect the speedometer, ABS and traction control

If cranking then it can be anything as the MAF is dirty or bad,...
