  1. 2002 red Z06 with Vortech Supercharger

    Member Sales/Trades - Parts & Cars
Norm, I ordered a 2007 convertible. Kathy retired last week. We have never owned a convertible so we thought we would try one. It was a much easier decision for her than me.:)

  3. DTE Cam Upgrade?

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
For what it's worth DTE installed my SC 3 years ago. Running stock clutch. No issues. I ordered a 2007 vert last week. My Z06 is for sale with mods. Sell yours, buy mine. :usa:
  4. DTE Cam Upgrade?

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
Great shop. $50 per horsepower is good anytime. Might be a good time to put in an underdrive pulley while the steering box is moved.
  5. Demon Key Removal

    Same here.
  6. Carbotech brake dust ruined my wheels?!!?

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
I was using Hawk Blues. Great pads, terrible dusting. Sounds like the oven cleaner is a good alternative. It might even be better than CLR. I have not tried it. Let us know how it works for you.
  7. Carbotech brake dust ruined my wheels?!!?

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
Wooer, I have had this problem many times and there is a fix for it. I have used CLR and Lime-Away with excellent results. I like the CLR better. I buy the CLR at a local hardware store. Lime-Away I have seen at Grocery stores. Put it on with an old brush and let it sit for an hour. Put lots in...
  8. Viper Days at Mid-Ohio, June 12 & 13

Zip, I have done Viper Days at Mid-Ohio. I thought it was a blast. Don't know if it is worth the money. How much money is it?
  9. brake fluid change question

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
I have used Valvoline synthetic for about 5 years. Costs about $8 per quart. Excellent fluid until you really start heating the brakes. Then look at the more expensive fluids such as Motul. Check this:
  10. question on rear brakes replacement

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
I agree with Subdriver. Use the pads he suggested. The stock or NAPA rotors should work fine WITH proper fluid, cooling ducts, and pads. Usually the front pads wear at least at twice the rate of the rear pads so check the fronts. I'm sure you had that planned. You can pick up Valvoline...
  11. Need Help with lowering my car...

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
Crazy, You do not need a lift. Just jack up the front and remove the wheels. Turn 2 bolts and put the wheels back on. The rear bolts can be adjusted without raising the car at all. There is a little more to it than that but not much. Do you have a friend who will help you?
  12. C6 Z06 Clutch in a C5 Z

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
Mark, Is this a direct replacement clutch? Did anything need to be balanced?

  15. Looking for new stock rear tires for my Z06?

It seems the F1's are on back order. (295/35-18) Does anyone know where I can get some?
  16. FS Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars

    Member Sales/Trades - Parts & Cars
I also picked up 2 of these tires today. If I have calculated the numbers correctly these tires are 8mm taller than stock. This means the car will sit 4mm higher and 4mm of tire/fender gap will go away. Add in the additional tread (mine have 3/32". new 8/32") and the car should sit about...
  17. Anyone running Hardbar’s front lowering bushings?

    C5 Z06 - Pit Road
Contact Hardbar and ask them. While you're at it, ask them why they did not send instructions. I would not use loctite.
  18. Z06 suspension upgrades and lowering advice* ??

Kevin, Search the forum for lowering advice. Most cars will lower about 3/4" to 1" by adjusting the stock bolts. There is a T1 suspension available for the car. It will increase the ride harshness but is a nice addition for tracked cars. Many of the T1 racers say that lowering the car reduces...
  19. Texas information wanted

    The Garage (non Vette related)
How much sales tax is involved when you live in Texas and buy a car?
  20. What do you think of this price?

    C5 Z06 - Grandstand
I think you can get a 2002 Z for $1000 more than the 2001. The 2002 may have a few more miles but I would gladly trade that for the problems many of the 2001's had, not to mention the 20 extra hp in the 2002. The 2001 would not interest me at that price. JMO.
