Your dealer should be able to provide you with the status of your order. Here are the event codes:

2001- order generated to dealer
2005- order replaced with GM prospect order
2050- order changed
2500- order sent to production, preference
3000- order accepted by production control
3100- order available to sequence, target production week should be set
3400- order broadcasted for production, should have sequence number
3800- vehicle produced
4150- vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200- vehicle shipped
5000- vehicle delivered to dealer
6000- vehicle delivered to customer
6010- vehicle delivery change

Frank, I have a Vehicle Order No. and see it on something called a "Vehicle Order Detail (Abbreviated)" report. This was given to me by the dealer a week or two after I actually ordered the car. So far, it is the only form of "confirmation" I have that my Z06 was ordered, but there is no other info on this report about "scheduling".

BTW, the "VOD" report provided to me was generated 6-25-01. It has some details about the car itself including options ordered, paint & trim.

None of the status codes you mentioned are present on this report. So the question is what "other" report(s) are available at the dealership that have the sequence codes and how do we use the information to track the status of a vehicle on order???

And Frank, when in the ordering process do you think that all important "TPW" date is assigned? I noticed a lot of people on the forum have their TPW. How and when did you get your dates?

dsinned,

You should have a 5 digit alphebetical #. That shows that your dealer has placed the order. Once your order hits 3100 status, you will get a TPW or targeted production week. When you hit 3400, your car will be assigned a sequence #. Your dealer should keep you informed as he should know the status of your order.

Make sure your dealer has an allocation. If the allocation isn't very big, that could hold you up.

I recieved my TPW a couple of weeks after placing the order...if I remember right.

Frank, thanks for the info.

My order no., if we are talking apples to apples, is actually "six" alpha characters long. I believe others on this board who have ordered 2002 Z06 have the same length "numbers", including some that have an actual digit at or near the end of the so-called order number.

Is there any significance to these "numbers" as to your relative position in the ordering queue? They appear to be randomly generated
not sequenced alphanumerically.

The TPW is located on the "Vehicle Order Detail" just below the color and trim. If it does not appear, your car was not assigned a TPW (3100 status), at the time they printed the document. Your dealer can inform you when your order has been accepted (3100 status) and print you a new V.O.D..

Once the car goes 3100 and is assigned a TPW, then you can get qet a sequence number for a predicted build date. This is not really neccessary, in my opinion. because you can't predict what day they will ship the car and how long it will take to arrive at the dealer.

Good luck to you with your orders!

Once you receives your six character order "number" you can either consult with the dealer or contact Chevrolet customer assistance @ 800-222-1020 and request info on your order.

When your vehicle reaches a 3100 status you will be given your targeted production week.

Detailed info is best gotten from your ordering dealer.
