Did anybody try letting some air out of the rear tires to increase grabbing ability.
Don't know if this will work with the Z's
tires. Also, thanks to Frank for turning me on to this forum.

That's an old trick I used to use back in the 60's when I raced every weekend, and the tires were not very good.
Not sure how much that would improve your
ETs with today's tires.

Traction is always an issue with hi-perf cars, especially when drag racing. For really the lowest ETs you need drag radials or slicks. Lauch technique seems to be very importent, especially with the Z06. Perhaps more so than tire pressure.

If you let too much air out, you actually lose contact patch with the pavement because the center of the tire will buckle upward. DR's, or ET Streets are definitely the way to go for the strip.

Thanks for the advice. Could you give me some more details about the mods you have made. I don't recognize all the abbreviations you have in your post.
Thanks
