The only local strip is an 8th mile track.. I'm heading down there tonight. I'd like some idea of what these things run in the 8th... also maybe a comparison of what a stock C5 runs?
I used a set of 5 year old Drag radials. Car had only 1100 miles on it. Usually I use the Drag Radials for the main reason of consistency... but they are past there life point now... even the 1.9's were with it spinning in 1st, and Violent Sideways into 2nd! Generally with good DR's it should be 1.8's. The F1's hook better on the street... but even my Dead DR's use to work better after heating up at the track... but unfortunately not anymore! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Just did my first try at the strip. It was the Vette vs Viper shoot out. I do not have drag tires, so I put my Autocross tires on the back. (The BFG's are cheaper than the Supercar tires).

I think with some practice I could do much better. Spin at start and after 1-2 shift. Rain moved in, so I could not get all the runs needed to find my grove.
Ran my 02 at St. Thomas Dragway at Sparta Ontario on Aug. 11; stock, 1100 km., with competitive handling activated.
8.511 @ 88.60
8.615 @ 87.76
8.644 @ 88.25
Hoping for better times next time.
Well-I have a new 2001 Z06, ran it at the Corvette nationals in St Thomas Ontario (Can) with 1800 miles on it-1st time I've draged in 33 years. Had trouble getting off the line, traction through 1st,2nd and spun in 3rd.Had a set of new BFG 275/40's but had tuff time trying to warm them up-brakes on Z06 too good! Tire pressure at 22lbs.
Best times:
60 ft-1.98 (averaged 2.05's)
330'- 5.48
1/8th-8.34 @ 89.46mph
1/4 mi-12.70 @ 111.07
Really feel with practice and a set of 315's I can be in low 12's. :flaming:
