On Sunday morning, a group of Vipers & myself caravaned to RCR for the Drags in San Antonio. Twice, Jeff Helms(2000 ACR) & myself went neck & neck at 180MPH. I wasn't sure if it was right, but he confirmed what he got on his speedo also. We had some more left to go but traffic in the distance & rough road surface( & the fear of going to prison) caused us to let off. Talk about an adrenaline rush. sheesh.
She felt solid & stable. I just wish I had my camera to have taken a pic of the speedo, Next time we do it I will get a pic..

Does the rear end become light at these speeds? Is your car lowered? Did you notice what RPMs you were running? I assume you were in sixth gear?

Darth,

I'm impressed with the fact that your Z06 will do 180 and that you have the ba!!s to do it, but this kind of stuff scares me. 180 on I10? You never know what lies ahead on a public highway that could cause some serious damage (to you and the car) at that speed. Be careful out there. Remember you have a wife and 2 kids. I want you at my next mod day (which BTW will include a very special surprise).

[got Z06?]

I saw some of those vipers coming back from a vette road trip that I was on. They asked if they could cruze with us back to Houston, but I told them they probably wouldn't be able to keep up, hehe... Traffic was horrible on I-10. I thought I was in downtown Houston. Traffic wasn't as bad as going up Saturday morning (our caravan was going to Kerrville - passed San Antonio)- I was on a mission to get 170 - When we got into town I fall to the back of the pack and then hammered it in the lane beside all the vettes. As I got up to speed, someone said on the cb "a cop just came on the highway!!" - I slammed on the brakes and got back in line just to look over to see the cop right on my quarter panel. I looked over at my passanger and said, "we weren't going that fast, were we?" and she replied, "your speedo said 150" - I was like "OOOOOH S***!!". The cop stayed on my quarter panel for about 5 minutes (I was sweating like a pig by this time) and then someone came over the cb and said, "two bike cops just picked up in the center of the caravan and another cop in the back" - We were all escorted out of San Antonio. After we got out of town the cb reply "damn those punk kids!!" - hehe

Darth - next time you make a run - let me know, I still have to complete my mission.
