When I was at NCRS Orlando on Jan. 13, a 1963 Z went through the Mecum auction The bid got to $170,000 but didn't sell. The owner wanted $200,000. You could buy 4 2001 Zs for the price of 1 1963. Which is the better buy?

One of the '63 Z's would be a great companion for the 2001 Z.

ZEEEE06 What color was it?

It's worth it if you got it to spend.
I will also take a '67 L88, '56 SR2, '57 FI '63 Grandsport, how about a '63 Convertible with factory air

The AMERICAN DREAM.

With the forecasted numbers for the 2001 and possibility of making a 2002, the '63 would be the hands down better investment. If the '63 is 100% stock/correct then $150k to $200k would probably be a good value. I saw a '67 427 coupe, which had a reasonable size production run, get $80k this weekeend on the barrett-jackson auction. A "real" '65 427 cobra, which are only slightly rarer than a '63 Z06 got $220k.

So... I ask GM, please keep the numbers down on the 2001 Z06 and do not use the name again for another 35+ years.

Pro-Team had one for sale recently. Can't remenber the price, but it was up there. I might check it out just for grins.

As an investment it will be MANY years before our cars begin to appreciate in value, like their 63 counterparts. If I wanted to invest the 50k I paid for my 06, I would have bought Tootsie Roll stock.

Checked out the price at Pro-Team, they are asking 79K for the one they have, it was an export car, and came into the US from Switzerland by way of Canada I believe.

Hay come talk to me! For something less then $200K I would think about selling my original 1963 Z06. Included would be $20k of spare parts. For a look at the car see my web site www.z06vett.com

I don't think the 01 ZO6 will ever go UP in value... the '90 ZR-1 run was HALF what the '01 ZO6 run is going to be... you can get one of thoes for half what our ZO6 was, and the ZR-1 had a MSRP like 10,000.00 more than our ZO6...

ALSO -

Back then people did not buy a car just to keep it, they baught them for a reason. There are MANY '90 ZR-1's in plastic bag's with 2 miles on them, Never been driven a day in the life... people did not do that back then, which is why they are so rare besides the production run. I would be very, very shocked if the '01 ZO6 ever became worth anything at all.
