I know that there aren't many, but does anyone have this combo? Just trying to see what I might expect number wise.

Also, if there is someone out there, what cam is being run and what would be a good cam for this combo. The springs I'll have will go up to ~640 in lift.

Thanks fellas. :mug:

I dont think a maggie would work well with a large motor like that.

Biggest displacement motor that I heard of with a Maggie is a 383. I am very pleased with my set-up, but I agree that a 402 is too much displacement for a Maggie.

You can see my 402 numbers below, with 10.5 compression and a smog legal cam. I'm going back for a Vortech and probably 5psi boost, I expect 600rwhp easily. Zrod in here has 402/blower setup I think he's like 700rhwp, I am sure he'll find this post soon and give the details.

Wow, Mikey, you're never satisfied are you?

I am going that route because, well, I already have the magg. I lost a cylinder in my current motor which is why I am going bigger cubes. There will be something other then the magg on the car sometime down the road i.e. KB or turbo. I was just wondering how it would do now.

I know the paxtons and D1's are putting crazy numbers down. This isn't going to be an extreme build for now. 6psi out of the magg would make me happy. I was just wondering what I may put down with this combo and a milder cam. Oh well, I'll post up when everything is together and we'll see then.

Wrecked, the Maggie folks will be releasing a 90 mm throttle body package this Spring - it also includes a larger "snout" or front portion of the unit. Preliminary tests at Magnuson and LPE have shown notable gains on stock displacement motors - think it would be a gotta have for you (and me too! :sneaky: )

I noticed that to about the 90mm TB. I think I am starting to have second thoughts about this.

I missed this one. I wonder if it changes the clearance any. I am just clearing the hood now with the stock unit.

I read that post. :D It was interesting....but my problem is that I have a Non-IC magnacharger.:
Problem?

Non-IC maggies everything being equal, will make more boost.

Some tuners remove the cooling feature.

Remember, cooled ones just delay heat soak, they don't prevent it.

I plan on running an alky setup as well, so maybe that will help some.
The heat soak will not be a problem with Alky.
My buddy did 4 hotlap runs down the track that day.
Times did not suffer as you'd expect with a heat soaked Maggie. Actually, his 4th run was his best one of the 4.

That's comforting to know. We'll see how it all unfolds as my shortblock will be ordered this month. :D
My buddy that did the 402 w/ Maggie may have some suggestions if your looking for them.

Email him at z06sante@rogers.com

Good luck with your build, and post dyno's once you get'em!

At A & A Corvettes open house last June, the Maggie guys had a booth and told me about a 427 with a Maggie on it that produced 650 rwhp.....

Call the folks at Maggie and ask 'em :yeadog:
It's true, car is owned by Frank in Maryland, see pics below...

Yup...I have been drooling over the KB system. I am trying to find out what is in the kit to see what I can sell from my car. It's a toss up still since I'll probably need to do some tranny work other than the clutch with that much power.

Good info on the 427 maggie car! Thanks!

For what it's worth, the 'official word' is now out that the KB setup will start shipping to customers in Mar 06. This unit makes 18PSI boost. Check the FI section of CF for more details.
Does it HAVE to make that much boost, or can it be dialed down to where a stock lower end can handle it?

Imagine a K/B on a 427 . . . :eek:o:

NOS? We don't need no stinkin' NOS . . . :D
