the electronic clutch on the a/c compressor disengages at WOT. this is the case with almost all new cars. :yeadog:

you would actually drive these cars at wide open throttle ?

Yep - for the first 10 months of ownership I just thought that the Z06 had really bad A/C. ;)

It was only when I complained to the dealer that the A/C still didn't blow cold - and pointed out the heat stressed brake rotors that they called and "sicked" in the zone rep on me for my "driving style" :lol:

Well, I'll be dam##d ... the things I find out here ... :thumb:
So ... way I figure ... AC release reduces drag on belt; increasing gas mileage ... so WOT is economy driving :sneaky:

Of course FRC Tom never drives his car above 4895 RPMs nor does he take it to wide open throttle...
