I plan to visit a buddy of mine north of Traverse City, Michigan this coming weekend. Because we used to run at the track when we were fresh from college, (he had a 426 Plymouth and I had a 427 Corvette), I was considering a visit to the drags while there.

Anyone able to provide info on a track in that area or a link to a web site??

I don't know of any strips around TC, but the IHRA is holding one of their National events in Stanton, Michigan the weekend of July 28! Search the web for IHRA info.

Traverse City isn't northern Michigan, it's southern Michigan /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Now if you came to the real Northern Michigan where I live (ain't no Michigan above it), I would tell you every road is a drag strip, if you can find someone to drag with. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

By the way I am heading to Reisterstown this Thursday - Saturday and then on to DC for a week or so then back to God's country.

SMFCPACFP, Sounds like my kinda roads up there. If you are looking for something to do on Friday night in MD, check out Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD. It's not far from Reisterstown. They do test and tune on Fridays and last week 3 Z06s and 9 other Vettes were running. Also a dozen or so crotch rockets and drag bikes. Here is a link.

Mid Michigan Dragway, in Stanton is about 1 1/2 hours south of Traverse City. Usually they have test and tune on Saturdays. But with a big meet coming up you should call them first. By the way, it is an excellent track for times. I usually run .1 to .3 seconds faster there than most other tracks.
