This was in my Z when I picked it up. I don't know what it is or what it is for. Any ideas?

Butt plug??
JK

It looks like some sort of trim piece. I work in an automotive assembly plant and I see lots of parts dropped in the vehicles. It could be any number of the thousands of parts used to assemble our cars. If ya saw the entire process of assembly from beginning to end...it would scare you.

Sorry I wasn't anyhelp.

Mr CP:

I also do not know....but, look at it very closely and see if their is a part number on it and check with the parts department at your Chevy dealer for a description.

Good luck!

Frank would know about those things
It could be a muffler bearing.

Carl, don't think it is a muffler bearing since it doesn't appear to be a titanium thingie! LOL

I was actually thinking it might be a lower radiator hose bracket for a Corvair.

No part numbers on it but it does have "LH" on it so I'll try to find the "RH" one in my car somewhere.
It's a Fukowee tribe headband.

Oh, THAT... That's the fetzer vlave frammus (with the cantalever removed).

(Clearly, I have no idea.)

WHERE in the car did you find it? Seems like those things tend to show up near the place they've fallen from.

That strip with the hole in it does look kinda like something I saw this weekend. While installing a harness set on the drivers side I had to remove the seat, there is a metal strip at the front-bottom-outside that hold the electrical plug for the power and control of the seat, looks a lot like it. the gromet might be were the cable comes thru. 1/2' wide maybe 6-8" long

The silver strip with the holes is a ruler to give a size reference.
Looks like a flamshooter to me. The lefthanded variety! Actually, it's probably a grommet of some sort.

It was down on the outside of the driver's seat. I think it's a leftover Vega part of some sort. Maybe it's the Framistan Valve Body that was on the infamous Cosworth engine.
Been scaring riders, eh...

It's the passenger's starbord eject handle. Looks like the guillotine sheared it just like it's supposed to.

You missing a seat; got a big hole in your roof you're not telling us about?

It's the improved gas filler hole(with bracket). No more worries about gas door opening.

It is definitely a a kanippling pin holder. It is for the canooter valve. And by the way, the Fukowee Tribe is currently enroute to Bumf-ckegypt where the spend the Spring Festival of the Misbegotten.

I have no clue what that is.
