Bargaining room for z06?

1120 Views 8 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Z06Y Lady
Hey,

I stopped by Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet in Pompano Beach, FL today to look at the Z06. The salesman told me there was no wait, and they must have had at least 10 z06's sitting on the lot. This leads me to believe that there is some bargaining room. Do you think I can bargain down below MSRP? By how much?

Absolutely!! I'm hearing as much as $4000 discounts at Maxie Price.
Hey Ben, let us know if you do. I am looking for a Z06 also. Incidentally I am selling/trading a Jet Black Z3. I think power is a drug!

Yea, the biggest thing for me will be working the trade and lease. I am down here in Florida as well...
Interesting post. I WISH I lived anywhere but here in Northern CA, where dealers WILL NOT DISCOUNT even on leftover Z06s. PERIOD!!!

It is sickening to see them holding out for as much as $10K over sticker. The best I could get one down to was still slightly over and then only if I financed the car through them and bought their "high markup" extended warranty.

NO DEAL you greedy bastards!!! ;-(

I've been shopping all over, mostly out of state, and haven't found anyone willing to sell for anything LESS than MSRP on a 2002 Z06. If there are such dealers out there, please let me know and I'll call them in a heartbeat. But who the hell are they and where are they located???

When you think about this, the Z06 market climate right now is so HOT, it is almost depressing be a potential buyer.

For maybe an hours work on a dealer's part, in order to order a customer his new 2002 Z06, via what amounts to a simple mail order operation, we are expected to pay $7,000 in pure profit to that dealer, and that's only if they will sell the car at MSRP!!! Most want more . . . lots more, and hence want even bigger profit.

If anybody knows of a flexible dealer who can sell to a cash buer next year's Z06, please let me know ASAP. You can call toll free and leave me a message at 1-800-810-4773, mailbox #7307.

I will be more than happy to pay anyone a reasonable "finder fee" in return for info that leads to the purchase of my new Z06.

I will also consider a lead on a great price (as in heavily discounted) for 2001 Z06 anywhere in CA, but that is probably asking way too much. However, I really want a 2002, and willing to pay more to get one, just not an arm and a leg. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I don't mind paying close to MSRP on such a great car, but it really tears me up how little "added value" the dealers bring to the table in return for massive amounts of profit. ;-(

The patient person is the one who will get the best deal on a Z06. Unfortunately that usually means you aren't going to get one of the first off the line - those go to the impatient ones.

Do you know the way from San Jose? As a Californian I've learned to shop on the net for my Z06. Most all Corvetteforum dealers will sell you a 2002 Z06 at MSRP. You can have the car drop shipped to a California dealer for a few hundred dollars.

There is a dealer in North Florida who offered to sell me a Z06 for MSRP-1500 plus they would pay the Museum Delivery cost of $490. A month ago they were backlogged to February 2002. Dennis Blanks at Capitol Chevrolet in Montgomery, AL sold me an 02 Z06 for MSRP-$500 and he picked up a several hundred dollar doc fee.
