What is working best for the competition minded members on the site to avoid wheel hop and scoot out for the fastest times etc.?

RPMs? Clutch action? Shift points?

Thanks.

Felkebg:

Best 0-60 times have been done by launching some where around 2500-3000RPM, and slipping the clutch to get some mild wheel spin (don't pop it all the way out) the car actually feels like it wants to bog, then nail it to red line.
The trick is to spin the tires just enough without inducing excessive spin or wheel hop (this will kill your 0-60 times too)and yet have enough RPM to avoid bogging the car.
The bottom line, is you have to practice the launch technique, as road and tire conditions are always a bit different,as well as race tracks.
This seems to be the best method so far with the stock tires, I know it has improved my 0-60 times, but it's been so long since I practiced launches, that I will have to start anew for this year. May be Rippied Z06 or someone else has info with drag radials or other tires, (Powershifter?) but I bet this will work with most tire types. Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Dennis I do it like you,but I am increasing the gas slowly as i am launching so as to miss the almost bog, when I manage to do it right. I to will need to relearn when we get some better conditions. Ric
