Mike,
I put them on my '01 convertible last November and just put them on my wife's '02 Z06 (255/40/17 in the front).

I love them and have had no issues with them.
The tread really looks aggressive too.

They are a top rated tire by Tire Rack.
I've done business with Damon at Tire Rack several times.
Great guy. He's at ext 643.

Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Regards,
Pedro

That's a picture of a "KDW" not a "KD". I also have the KDWs for my street set and love them.

I just got a set of KDs for the track. I sure hope this is not a real problem - but just a fluke! Because this weekend will be the 1st time for me to try them out. Wish me luck.

Joe,
Mike stated "BFG G-Force" in the title of his post.
He did not specifically say
KDs (Key= Dry) or
KDWs Key= Dry & Wet).
KDW-(2s for new tread) are G-Force Tires.
These are what I have on my car

The post before mine also references KDWs.

Just sharing what I know about my tires and trying to help out a vette brother.

Good luck to you with your street and track tires.
As I stated, I love my KDWs.

Pedro:

My BAD - I was caught up in the link that "roushraven" had in his response. Sorry about that.

I have had the KD versions on C4 & C5 Corvettes since 1999 (several sets). I was competing in a street tire class (Non r-compound) and these are the ultimate in dry cornering. The old MXX Pilots were equivalent. The newer Pilot Sports are not as good.

On the street they were a little noisier than other tires because of the large tread blocks. They were good in the rain until they hit the wear bars. These tires are nearly slicks at this point. I did not compete on them in wet weather.

If you want to drive 100 in the rain these are probably not the tire for you.

I ran my KD's at Road America last fall. 145 MPH, 3 times a lap with no problems. One rear had a plug in it.
