If you would rather the C6 have black headlight surrounds,
Or at least would like them offered as a no cost option,
PLEASE help by contacting GM and let them know how you feel
at the following address:

www.chevrolet.com/contactus/emailus/index.jsp

You can check the following and fill in the blanks to tell them how you feel:

X I am considering the purchase of a vehicle and have a product, promotion, or incentive question.

I posted the following message personally.
Feel free to copy and paste it when you post.

In order for me to purchase the 2006 ZO6,
the following criteria needs to be met:

1) price to have no more than a $10k premium over a similarly optioned base C6 coupe
2) targa top option (no charge)
3) black headlight surrounds (at least as an option)

If the new ZO6 does not offer the above,
I will have no choice but to purchase __________.

To forum members,
Please take a look at other modern sports cars with exposed headlights.
I hope that you will agree with me when I say that black; or headlight assemblies that contrast the body color, are much more visually appealing.

Please take the time to vote and show your support for those that,
AT LEAST, would like the option of black headlight assemblies.

Thank you.

hey you can just buy a right and a left assembly in black. They come painted as a sealed unit for about 940 bucks list or xxxeditxxx they might look good now that you mention it; however I think the body color units are more unique, your examples prove my point. Most likely a more expensive route for GM rather than all getting black. btw some of the photo links are dead in your post.

I don't think I should have to pay another $2,000-$2,500 to swap out headlights when:
1)they should have came that way from the factory
2)GM could do it at no additional cost to themselves
3)I just spent over $60k on a car

Breathless Performance has black headlights on their yellow C6. I personally don't care for it. The black is too much of a contrast and adds to the smiley face look. Maybe dark grey or carbon fiber would look ok, but I think the painted to match looks fine and more unique.

I dunno, the black headlamp areas really detracts from a smiley face look, a lot more meaner and racier, just look at all the other cars with the same thing. takes away the beady eye look from the light bulbs. GM should definitely DO this change.

Dupe post -- but, besides that, the black headlights are like the ugly girl that thinks she'll be prettier with more eye shadow.

The gray looks great as well.
ANYTHING is better than the monochromatic.

To those that disagree, that's fine.
However, you disagree with the majority.
The majority of auto enthusiasts prefer black or contrasting headlights.
I have supported the majority statement with forum polls and with the list of othe sportscar/supercar headlights.

It's $940 bucks for EACH headlight assembly.
They you have labor.
The the quotes I have been getting is $2,500.

If know a competent professional who will
remove the headlights,
unseal the headlights,
paint them,
re-seal them,
and re-install, for significantly less than $940,
I would really appreciate it if you could post their info.

However, even if they would do it for $100-$200,
it's $100-$200 I wouldn't have had to spend if GM released the car with the better looking contrasting lights.

Thanks.

That may be the ONLY one out there. I still say that the black surround looks more exotic, racier, meaner. JMO :coo:
