Grand Sport Racing has recruited 1999 Speedvision World Challenge GT

Champion Bobby Archer to drive the #08 Grand Sport Racing/KB Enterprises

Corvette C5 at Mosport. Bobby will be seeking his third consecutive SVWC GT

win at the legendary Canadian track during Round Three of the 2001

Speedvision World Challenge series, May 20.

While the Archer name is frequently associated with his success in the

Viper, he is no stranger to victory in Corvettes at Mosport. He recorded

back-to-back endurance wins there in 1986 and 1987 in his Corvette on his

way to winning the championships. He has won more races in Corvettes than

any other single car make, 14 in all.

"It going to be good to be back," said Archer. "I am very fond of Mosport.

Its not only a great circuit, but the fans are terrific. This effort is a

very positive thing. It is very much a group effort for both Grand Sport

Racing and Bobby Archer Motorsports. The fact that we are both based out of

Texas gives us the opportunity to do a lot of testing. So far its been

very pleasant and very productive. I am cautiously optimistic that we can

be competitive."

Grand Sport Racing Team manager Terry Lackey is very pleased with the new

association.

"Bobby Archer is an extremely talented and accomplished driver," explained

Lackey. "Bobby adds depth and breadth to our program. His input will be

extremely valuable to both our technical staff and to his teammate Bobby Sak

who is driving the #04 car for us this season."

Bobby Archer plans to continue to campaign a T1 class Viper in SCCA Club

Racing competition. He recently signed Super Clubs as a marketing partner

for that program. Super Clubs owns and operates a popular chain of

all-inclusive Caribbean resorts.

"By driving for Grand Sport Racing, it gives me an opportunity to provide

added value to our current sponsors, Red Line Oil, ForgeLine Wheels and

Cyclo. It is also a chance to expose a new sponsor to benefits of the

Speedvision World Challenge Championship Series," stated Archer.

Grand Sport Racing Team Owner Kelly Bradley admits that the team is already

having fun with the alliance.

"Having two team drivers named Bobby will present some communication snags,"

grinned Kelly. "Other teams have ribbed us about our criteria for driving

for Grand Sport Racing. Theyve said that to drive for Grand Sport, you

either have to be from Texas or be named Bobby. Well, in Archers case, we

get both."
