I finally have it!!
.
All week waiting, and waiting for a call. I called the dealer to let them know it would be arriving any moment since I had tracked it to Milpitas last Saturday. I called Thursday, since no show yet. Well, Friday morning at 1030, I got THE call...the truck just arrived! Whoopee! I jumped into the Supra and made a beeline to the dealer and found the driver just getting ready to offload the ZO6. Had a MY vert. on board also for the dealer, but the Torch Red ZO6 looked like Santa's Rudolph on board. Very REDDD! Got the car into the wash down area in the dealer lot where I took over and used some Zaino car wash and a nice soft cotton towel to give my baby its first wash. The car had already been stripped of the plastic wrap somewhere along the line. The driver says that UPRR railcars are all enclosed, so for the ride out from TN the car was protected well.
The driver made it to Ukiah on Thursday, but the weather was like rain/snow/howling winds...ah very bad indeed! So he stopped at Ukiah for the night.
The dealer checked out the car, as well as myself, and all was PERFECT, and so I got away about 2:30 in the afternoon. First had to get some gas since it was running on reserve...no free fill up for this Courtesy delivery
. Anyway I got to drive it some around town. The car is very easy and fun to drive. Actually better ride than the Supra comfort wise. Rear tire noise to some degree on the level of the Supra. In all a fantastic car...and very glad I made the choice I did. The exterior Torch Red is Red/Orange and very bright. Will take a while to get used to the brightness. The interior is absolutely gorgeous! I really like the two tone black with red accents. This is one husky, aggressively styled car and actually has the quickness, and responsiveness to match its looks. Getting used to six speeds after an automatic was easy since I have driven sticks before, but this one is very easy to operate.
Well, today it will be time for some Zaino polishing, and my first mods...the exhaust plate ZO6 plate. Lots of mods on hand to install over the coming weeks. This will be a lot of fun and excitement for a long time.
One happy guy here in N. CA
