Wife calls and tells me her key fob to my Z quit working. So I go out and check mine, and the POS isn't working either!! WTF??

Haven't had any trouble with either Z till now. I guess its the receiver...take it to the dealer tomorrow.

Same thing happened in my '99 coupe. Took 20 min to put in a new reciever, and reprogram, but still a pain in the butt!!

Frank, mine does this once in a while as well, I take the battery out of the fob and then reinstall it and do a fob relearn through the DIC and it will be ok, but first try pushing the 2 buttons at the same time on the fob and hold that for a while and see if you get a horn beep, if you do the fobs relearned worked without going through the DIC. Carl,

I did the fob relearn and it didn't work. The problem is intermitant now. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Got an appointmant tomorrow morning to get it fixed.

Did you replace the battery in the fob, I had that problem 1 month after I got my car.

Batteries suck! This happened on my wife's '99 Durango a month after we got it. Both Fobs quit working within the same week. I thought it was the receiver, but it turned out to be the batteries.

Update:

I go to my Z this morning...and the key fobs work!!

WTF??

I still took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong.

Next time it happens, if ever, I'll run it back to the dealer. Hopefully it was just a one time glitch. Did Carl say something about Tequila and buttons??

I think Frank was drinking too much Tequila and forgot what buttons to push.
