Im a 96 T/A owner. I was curious about the gear ratio, and more importantly the rear ends in the C5. From what i get the M6 is 3.42's. I was was curious what the stock vette rear is, and if any difference from stock to z06.

All are 3.42
Different tranny ratios in the Z06. gives it an overall lower (higher combined numeric) ratio in gears.
There's a thread here that compares.

Z06 is 3:42. Auto trannies use different gears in the rear. Like Denny said, the Z has different gearing in the tranny.

I wasnt concerned w/ the ratios. I was curious about the strength. Reason being, the 10 bolts in Fbodies are weak. I was curious what the difference was that make the vettes stronger.

How much hp can a stock corvette rear end handle?
they break for different reasons other than just HP .... some FI cars make over 600rwhp and the rear ends hold together...some stock C5s break at the drag strip. If not racing cars at drag strip then rear ends appear to hold a lot of HP.
