Purchase from Radio Shack one package of 2.2k-Ohm resistors for $1.00 part #271-1121. Jack up rear of car and place on jack stands. Unplug the CAGS connector on the left rear of the transmission. With the wire ends of the resistor, form a U and then stick into the Cags connector on the end of the harness you just unplugged. Use electrical tape to hold the resistor in place and seal the plug. Use a wire tie to secure the connector/harness to a nearby empty bolt hole on the trans. Remove jack stands, lower car, and you're done. You will still get the shift light on tha dash but no more CAGS.

Thanks for the quick, inexpensive tip! Did it trip any error codes on the DIC?
