A "radical" cam will shift the torque curve to a higher rpm, not what GM wants in a streetcar. The low-end grunt is one of the things that make this a great car.
The LS6 cam is a compromise of fuel mileage, HP, low-end torque and emissions. True you can use a more radical cam, but at some point you have to ask yourself, is it a streetcar or a racecar? If your answer is "race car", don't just stop at the cam!
