Car Show Sept 10th Upland, CA.

Pomona Valley Corvette Assn. is having an All American Car and Truck Show in Historic Downtown Upland, on Saturday, September 10th. With all the proceeds going to The Painted Turtle, one of Paul Newman's family of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses. It's the only multi-disease camp of its kind on the West Coast. Last year they had over 120 cars.

Here is a little bit about the Painted Turtle.

The Painted Turtle officially opened its doors during Spring 2004 and since that time has been providing a meaningful, medically safe camp experience for children ages 7 to 16, at no cost to the child or their family. The kids who attend are able to swim, fish, and make arts and crafts projects, horseback ride, play basketball, and take part in many other great activities. Perhaps most important of all, no matter what a child has lost to their medical condition - their hair, a limb, the strength to run, or their independence - they are able to feel normal and accepted at camp "just being kids." They get back some of the childhood lost to the unfair burden of having a chronic illness. Studies have shown that the types of programs planned at the Painted Turtle clearly have a positive and often profound impact on the lives of its children and their families.
