I have read somewhere that the clutch switch can be used to temporarily kill the engine for a quicker shift at the dragstrip. Motorcyclist regularly us this feature to shift except they us a separate box to kill the engine and a air or electric ram to change the gears. I guess on a car some time would be saved because the clutch would not necessarily all the way to the floor. I probably need to add that the clutch switch on the vette is used to trigger something that kills the engine for a brief time period not the clutch switch doing it all. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help or guidance to find the info. Best to all and Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
