When I put my deposit down on my 2002 Z ..He wanted to know what color..a tentative choice for now til the actual order is made. I chose QuickSilver..mainly cuz, well my wallpaper is Franks car on that red lift. It is so pretty! BUT...today I saw a Black Z coming down the road at me. Now I own a 99 Black TransAm...beautiful car in black...I see this black car coming..amber lights, so I am thinking its another TA...it gets closer....Damn..a black Z...absolutely stunning. Black is so friggin hot in AZ...it takes so much to keep clean, but I think I need to make a change from Silver to Black.

My car before my Z was silver (1996 Dodge Viper GTS). I felt like you - I liked the silver, but I wanted a change so I went for black. In the UP of Michigan we welcome the warmth of black /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I am sure you will like the silver. I find it very attractive in person.

It was a tough choice between silver and black for me too. I chose silver in the end. I have had black in the past and just don't have the dedication it takes to keep looking great. I think you should go with your heart... or you could always flip a coin /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif Anyway, keep us posted.

I prefer the black. The Eclipse I drove for the last 10 years was black and I kept it looking good for the first couple years. After that I just didn't have the time to keep it spotless. A dirty black car looks like sh*t. I decided to give silver a try when I bought my Corvettes. I love the metallic paint and the car is much easier to keep clean. Even when it's somewhat diry it still looks good. I'm happy with silver. I may go back to black someday when I have more time to keep it clean.

When I first picked up the Zs, I begged my wife to swap with me. NOPE!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif I really liked the Black and never really cared for the Silver. But, when I put the chromies on, it changed my whole attitude towards the Silver Bullet!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I love it!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif I do, however, prefer the painted wheels on the Black. It looks mean.

Here's another question that only you can answer.....flip a coin. I have Torch Z, I had Sebring Silver Targa, I had Rally Red '67 big-block....LOVED them all....maybe you would not.

It's all 'your' choice, like sex and religion.

Black is a sharp color, but for where you live, and did I ask if you like to wash your car a lot, (you will with black) go with the QS.

Not that it much matters but Im partial to yellow or white. I actually liked the looks of the speedway white. But yellow was in my heart. It hides dirt pretty well too.

Duh?
Quicksilver shows all the lines, changes among a vibrant collage of colors depending on the sunlight it reflects throughout the day, and hides dust like non other. Why would want a big black blob that is difficult to clean, when you can have sophistication.

If you like to spend the time to take good care of it, there is nothing like a well Zaino'd black car. I have a black SS that I think is the best looking car around! But I don't drive it much and I spend a lot of time cleaning it. That's why yhe Z06 is red, it is easier to keep clean and I drive it all the time.

Zman, Yes a big black blob. The color black doesn't show any of the cars subtle lines, it all meshes together and from a distance of 5' or more it looks just like a big black blob. No detail, just black. Sometimes you can exaggerate this look by blacking out the DRL's and the tail lights. Then it really looks like a big black blob. If that is what you like, cool, but it isn't me.

I think bwhitmore has a point. I have a black Firebird and though I really like the way it looks, I agree black can hide the fine lines and curves which is good or bad depending on how much you like your car's shape. I'm still deciding between black and yellow on my Z06 but yellow has been winning the battle in the past several days. I know for sure I wouldn't want any other color besides yellow or black.
