I think the new 500hp Z06 is talked a whole lot, not that I have a problem with that, I think there is way too much talk about it, but keep it up...

my curiousity is this the most anticipated car in time or do you mature car anthusiasts know of a car in the past that was more anticipated and more talked about, for myself I remember the 2003 cobra being talked about alot because of the power for the price, but I wasnt on the forums back then, Is the new Z06 just being talked about a whole lot on the forums or is it outside too?

Agreed---with the other offerings that have come out of Detroit in the past couple of years I think that there are many, many people excited & looking with great anticipation toward the time when the C6Z hits the streets "looking for booty!!"

It's certainly the talk of this forum but no one in Europe or Japan has ever heard of a z06. The new M5 is generating a lot more interest over there.

All the above came with much hype and speculation and were turning points with most reaching and fullfilling expectations

Yeah i have no proof but i would guess that the internet has helped A LOT. Not to mention that now new cars even appear on CNN and stuff.

There has always been Hype and Speculation on Price, Performance, Options, Rumors, Introduction Date, Production Numbers,Specs, etc.

The internet has just amplified and quickened the pace somewhat but it is still all the same, just an added media medium.

I'm only 31, but for me I think the '90 ZR1 was a highly anticipated car. Look at some of the prices people payed to be the first to have one. I remember reading about the car in Motor Trend, Corvette Fever and Vette magazine back when I was in college and just marveling over the idea of a factory Corvette that could go 180 MPH and do zero to 60 in under 5 seconds. The first time I saw one I slammed on my brakes and turned around to talk to the guy that owned it. In a time of 250 horsepower sports cars, the 375 horsepower rating of the "then" King of the Hill was something to get excited about!

You forgot the 57 Chevy "Power-pack". For those too young to remember that was a fuel injected 283cu small block with 283hp. First time for a Chevy with 1 hp per cubic inch. (Corvette offered that engine too-don't remember what the Vette HP rating was) :usa:
