Does anybody that has a set of 3.90 gears think the $2000 spent was worth the money? I've heard it feels like 40-50 HP has been added to the car, in every gear. Is this true? I already have 445 rwhp and 403 rwt. Will the 3.90 gears make that much difference from a standstill strat, or downshifting acceleration. A couple people answered some questions on a prior thread of mine regarding these issues. Thanks. Care to answer these questions too?

For a stock or lightly modified Z06 3.90 gears are a match made in Heaven. Your putting down a lot of power 3.73's may be better choice.

Can't comment on personal experience with 3.90 gears, I don't have them. Are you having any traction problems from a standing start? I think (MHO) that traction will be hard to find or at least take more practice to get benefit from the upgrade. Even with 403 rwtq, you'll be smokin 1st, almost all of 2nd, and the first part of 3rd on stock tires.

$2,000.00 is way too much money. Just last week a forum vendor quoted $1200.00 out the door for a gear swap. Good luck.

IT L GO`s speeds at 6500 are about right, But in my experiance the speedo & tach lag so much that if you wait for those mph. to shift you will already have hit the limiter! I shift at about 38, 58, & 88. with the 390`s. They definitly wake an almost stock Z up!
