Does anyone know if any of the exhaust manufacturers are planning on making a high-flow cat set up? I added a Bassani high-flow cat x-pipe to my Cobra and it yielded 15 rwhp. It sounds to me like that is where GM is getting most of the extra power for the '02 Z. The Bassani x-pipe for the Mustang eliminates the pup cats and replaces the other cats with two high-flow cats (while my Cobra had four cats, a Mustang GT has six /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif). I could feel an immediate difference and it never triggered any codes. Lots of companies made it for the Mustangs, I can't understand why they wouldn't for Vettes, especially now, given the change in the '02. There will be a demand created by '01 and '00 owners wanting to dump the restrictive pup cats. Anyone heard? BTW my former car passed the Maryland treadmill emissions test with the Bassani system and I believe that it was 50 state legal, so I don't think that would be a problem if anyone is curious.
I've spoken to Random Tech about this cat setup and it doesn't really add any horsepower on a stock engine...so unless you're doing major mods, I don't think it would be worth it.
