Am looking at adding those to my DRM brake ducts and was curious.

You might as well ask if having the ducts without the spindle attachment is worth anything at all...many would argue "no".
Air flow directed to the center of the rotor is key!

So, to run the spindle mounted ducts, you need the factory brake ducting, and a brake duct extension (such as the DRM) and some silicone tubing to connect the brake duct extension and the spindle mounted duct too, right?

I wore through my old (GEN I style) DRM brake duct extensions and just got their new ones made of a more forgiving material... Hopefully these ones last longer.

Although I have to figure out how to attach them now...

yes to both points. You might also want to look at the hub adapters Phoenix makes, they are very good too.
