if the car is warmed up so that oil temp is above, say,
170 degrees.

if I sit in neutral and blip the throttle to around 1500 RPM
when I let go of the gas, I hear a slight rattle that almost
sounds like the clutch marble sound, but the car is in neutral.

Does anyone else get that? its only when you let off the gas
and the rpms come down. sounds like its coming from
underneath the car near the engine oil pan.

Car seems to run fine otherwise, I dont notice the noise
driving around (too subtle, the exhaust drowns it out).

Its a characteristic trait. Nothing to worry about. Perfectly normal. When it DOESNT do that you should worry...hehe kidding. :)

If it bothers you that much, push the clutch back again and release it slowly , it should stop. It is normal do not worry.

My '02 does this, my friend's does not. I had them replace the entire exhaust, and it did not fix it. I really hate the rattle. I did notice that the breather cap on top of the transaxle is loose -- designed that way for some reason. If you tap it down, this may stop the rattle.

My clutch rattles...doesn't really matter if it's in neutral or not - just matter if the clutch is engaged or not...
