Have any of you mid-atlandtic guys made the trip to Bowling Green? Using Yahoo Driving Directions it appears to be 687 miles (Arlington Va TO BG) . That would appear to me to be a 7 hour drive. Yahoo says 13 hours. Must be some 2 lane roads? Craig

Craig,

I make the drive to Elizabethtown, KY and it takes about 10-12 hours depending on stops.

That's taking I-70W --> I-68W -->across MD I-79S in West Virginia to I-64W (?) to Lexington. Then I take the Blue Grass Parkway to Elizabethtown. From E-town its about 90 minutes to Bowling Green on I-65S.

From Northern Virginia take I-95S to I-64W (?) and then scoot over to BG. That still takes abour 10.5 - 12 hours depending on traffic and stops. To make it in 7 hours your would have to average about 100 MPH /ubb/smilies/smile.gif the whole way.

While I cannot anwer the driving time to BG, I would not head down 95S to 64W from N. Va as MiZ06 suggested. You would lose a few hours via that route. Take 66W to 81S and pick up 64W north of Roanoke.</FONT f>

Craig,

ZOWE6 is right. I should have looked at a map. That's the route my brother-in-law took when he drove up here visiting from Bowling Green.

From Annapolis/Baltimore area its quicker to go the North/Western Route across MD through W.V. then South to Kentucky, and I think the drive is nicer.
