Well it's taken a long time, but I finally dropped my Z06 off for the ring job. After 5900 miles I'm still adding a quart every 300-400 miles. I'll be stopping by to take pictures, which I'll post back to this topic. Should take at least one week.

Good luck, I hope you get your Z back soon.

I heard that they are going to use the rings from the 02' Z06? Is this true?

If it is, then that's one less thing that I have to worry about.

Hey C5D,

My get well card is in the mail. Hope your car is back home soon even better than new. All cars start to use a little oil when they get old. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Don't you be out there flirting with any Cobras or Vipers while your Z is in the hospital.

C5,

I'll say a prayer that your dealer doesn't have a rolling blackout while operating. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Best of luck on the repair,

2k

Good Luck!!! Mine is only using a qt every 1200 to 1300 miles so I don't expect to demand a ring job. Your situation is simply unacceptable so you should feel that you have nothing to lose here. Hope it goes well for you. It should.

Does anyone have anything official from Chevrolet on this oil problem?

I've been reading A LOT of postings from other sites on 01' Z06 owners who are complaining about oil consumption problems.

I personally feel that one quart every 3,000 miles is somewhat adequate... but not every 500 to 1,000 miles... (unless its driven extremely hard)

Yikes!
