I was looking for a trackday pad and tried the Yellowstuff pads for my HPDE at Mid Ohio. I wore away the stock pads completely in 2 days last year.
After following the recommended break in procedures, I headed to the track.
Initial bite is average, similar to the stock pads. There was no pad fade, even after repeated threshold ~150 mph to 60 stops every 1:46. Stock 2007 Z06 on Nitto invos.
On the street and at the track they were quiet. Occasional squeal when cold.
They look to be relatively easy on the rotors.
When I changed back to my street pads, however, the pads were almost gone and chunks were missing, with the right outside top padlet completely worn away.
I conclude that this pad is not suited for high-speed race track driving. Very slight improvement over the stock pad, and the brake dust generated washes away more easily.
I think I'll try the carbotech XP 12 one piece pad next, however it's at least twice as expensive. If it lasts twice as long, I will judge it a success.
