Pics from day 2.....With my Adams Polishes in tow, a Porter Cable buffer, and my trusty leaf blower, I get to work on the 2nd day of detailing. Keep your eyes on the overall depth & shine of the paint, the dressed tires, cleaned dash, and removed front plate. Got quite a bit done for 3 hours of work.

Jofu, you are too kind. Thanks brutha.

Colin, the car sat on an open yacht parking lot for 3 years as the owner lived on a yacht. He is an older gentleman with some health issues so the car kinda suffered in the maintenance dept. He's a good friend of mine and I have agreed to help him sell the car to someone....as hard as he is making it for me to NOT BUY IT!!!!!

Wow! What a difference in the before & after shots. All your hard work sure has paid off. That poor baby was in bad need of some TLC. She's lookin' great now. Too bad about the tail light seal. What's a new one cost, about $2k? :)

Thanks brutha. We'll see about the tail lens housing. I will be servicing the car for all fluids, brakes, SRS airbag, ashtray, passenger side mirror, left bank check engine, intermittent right engine bank check engine, and the rear tail lens housing. I plan to have it all done by next Wednesday pending the parts being in already. The tail lens was ordered almost 8 months ago and the ashtray over a year ago. Should be in by now....We are looking at about $12k to get the car in near perfect condition again.

Man where are my sun glasses?

Wow Dave I can see you driving that thing. I see some green tape on the edges and tail lights. Do you use it to protect the edge from buffing through? And would that be Eagle One Wet Tire Shine as you mentioned in another post? Looks good.

Very nice work. Very impressive.Who needs to work out in the gym when you detail a car instead? What are you going to use to clean the engine compartment? It looks very dirty.

Nice work! That car should be an easy sell. In fact, I have heard of someone in Hawaii that is really into Lamborghinis!

DJ, Come on over, I'll give you a ride in it! The tape is there for protection to make sure that as I buff, I don't cut through the paint on any of the edge surfaces. The tire dressing is Eagle One Wet n Protect....freshly sprayed on.

IT L GO, thanks brutha...the project is progressing well.

lasmith, He's coming down this Sunday to see it. ;)

Fill her up I'm on my way. Thanks for the offer Dave. The last time Cat and I were over there we were driving a Ford Escort.

Are you going to use Simple Green on the engine and some of Adam's detail spray to shine things up?

I have already gone to work on the carpet with the simple green. For the engine work, I will be working with a dry wash chemical for all of the surfaces so as to avoid getting too much water on the potentially fragile electronics.

Dave! I really think it would look great in the garage, next to the Z. :yeadog: Looks like the body is in pretty good shape for a yacht-lot car--go for it! :z:

I spent Saturday with Adam & company, over at A&A's BBQ. We did what I call a "rough" detail of Andy's black C6--I really needed a little more resources (buffer) to do a thorough detail on that car, as it had never seen wax, was water spotted, and scratched. Still the final result was a 100% better than the start. Wish I had gotten some completed pics of the car...

Thanks Scott. I am trying very hard to resist this car! It did help when I read about the new Z06 doing 0-60 in 3.7 in 1st gear. LOL

The paint on the car is very high quality and the fact that I was able to bring it back from the condition it was in, is a testament to the quality of both the paint, and the products I used on the paint.

Wish I could've made it to the A&A gig, but it was a little outta my range. Glad it all went well.

Aloha, Dave
