I'm coming down on my street tire 60' times....I can't launch for shit but shift just fine - I'll be heading to Houston to run at HRP with the slicks in the not too distant future, that run above, on slicks, would have been a 1.7 60' which would have been my 11 second run. :D

Agreed. Nearly 117mph is definitely an 11 on slicks. :)

Looks like Ennis wasn't prepped worth a darn, but you guys did have very good air (for Texas) today...good day for high trap speeds. :)

How many runs did you get in?

Question on a stock Z06 what tire pressures are working? What RPM do you launch at? I sure can't seem to get it hooked up very well.

Went out last Sunday and ran 1/8 mile drags at Irwindale, CA

R/T .721
60' 2.280
330' 5.942
1/8 8.820
MPH 86.570

This remined me of running my 62 with the 6.70 x 15 stock tires!

Ranger and Powershifter recommend 22 psi in back and 50 in front. It has worked for me so far.
I've done some experimentation and found that 22-24 psi works best for me on the stock tires,

Powershifter says that 28 psi works best for him. His 60' are better than mine. But for me 28 yields slower 60'.

I run 42-44 psi in the front, compared to 30 psi stock. This is worth a few hundreths.

Experimentation is key. Also getting below 2.0 on anything but a well prepared track is unusual unless you've done a lot of practice away from the track.

Launching is similar to playing golf. You gotta practice in order to improve. Can't just play.

I agree with ranger, experience pays off in drag raceing. I do like 28psi in the rear. Just matching your techneque, to your setup, and track conditions is what will probably work best for you. IMHO Ric

I was running 25 psi in rear and 30 psi in fronts and launched at 2000 RPM when I turned these times. I guess I need to practice and try some launches in 1400 to 1900 range.

TAMU,

Your trap speed is there, a better 60' should get you into 12.3s for sure. I was there the same day and ran a 12.56 with 2.118 60' and 114.95 MPH.
