It was an OK day here in PA and I couldn't wait any longer to drive the Z. I had to try out the new mods. I installed a ripper and Halltech tric Ti and MAG(cobra) with the magic box and ported throttle body. I also removed the screen from the MAF. Also several coats of Zaino, winters are to long ...
First impression of the Halltech System. Great looks. I also had another shroud sent for GM Parts Direct to cut on. Install was not that hard. Took my time and it turned out very well. Fit and finish of the Halltech is great. They only thing I didn't like was the seperate connectors for each wire on the magic box. So I hard wired my to the factory harness for now. Thanks Jim and Chris for the great service.
The first thing I did was the computer idle relearn. Checked for codes there were none. OK now it time to go for a ride. All I can say is what a ride. I did some varying speed driving getting on it a few times. Never really hammered it due to the fact the Z only has 284 miles on it. It was only 46 degrees so the tires broke loose at will. 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd with out really trying that hard. I was worried about the idle after reading some of the threads, but the idle is nice and smooth for now no surging at all. Not one hiccup or burp. When I got back I rechecked for codes still none.
First impression of the ripper. Very short very firm shifts. I love it. It does make a little noise with the stock knob, but it doesn't bother me.
Overall a smile scale of 1 to 5. I give these mods a /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
